Electronic Pole-Changing Strategy with Cosine-Response for Multiphase Induction Motor Based on PR Controller

The multiphase induction motor (MIM) suffers the problems of unsmoothness and slow dynamic response during process electronic pole-changing. To solve this issue, a cosine-response strategy based on proportional resonance (PR) current controller is proposed. Firstly, switching with designed, which makes MIM work more smoothly while between two planes. Then, PR static coordinate system adopted to replace traditional integral loop controller, realizes zero steady-state error tracking improves MIM’s response. Experiments five-phase verify that proposed can reduce fluctuations torque, speed, total harmonic distortion phase current. Besides, it improve torque speed when pole-changing switched.
